This is one of the most searched questions about hemp, so the Big CBD Product team is opening it here for the community to discuss.
CBD stands for cannabidiol. It is one of more than 100 cannabinoids found in the hemp plant, and like most of them it is produced mainly in the trichomes, the tiny resin glands that cover the flowers and leaves. Our guide to trichomes explains how they work: https://bigcbdproduct.com/en/news/cannabis-trichomes/
Unlike THC, CBD is not intoxicating. It sits alongside other cannabinoids such as CBG, which we cover here: https://bigcbdproduct.com/en/news/cbg-cannabigerol/
Products sold as CBD are not medicines, and the scientific evidence on many claimed uses is still limited.
When you first came across CBD, what did you think it was? Did anything surprise you once you looked into it?
